"Izolyatsia: Must Speak"
Опубліковано 11 грудня 2024 року о 14:16

What do you know about places of detention and filtration camps of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine? One of such well-known “symbols” of Russian Federation crimes is the territory of the former cultural center “Izolyatsia” in Donetsk (https://izolyatsia.ui.org.ua/en/). It is a de facto concentration camp where unarmed people were shot, tortured, and imprisoned for more than 10 years, and which is still operational today.

Since December 2020, the MFA of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Institute and the IZOLYATSIA. Platform for Cultural Initiatives have been testifying to the world as part of the #IzolyatsiaMustSpeak information campaign about these crimes of the Russian Federation.

“Izolyatsia” is an existing example of where the path of appeasement of the aggressor leads. The Russian Federation shows by all its means that it is interested only in war. Waiting for concessions from the Russian Federation is a waste of time and lives.

As long as all prisoners in the illegal “Izolyatsia” prison and similar filtration camps in the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation are not released, as long as the inevitability of punishment for these crimes is not ensured and there are no provisions to prevent them in the future, we continue to insist on the establishment of a full-fledged international ad hoc tribunal on the crime of aggression against Ukraine committed by the political and military leadership of the Russian Federation.
